living aboard year-round in the northeast USA

Lots of people live aboard full time and year round at Gangplank Marina in downtown DC. Not sure about availability, but when I visited recently, there were lots of empty slips.

Or neighbors on the mooring this past summer were going to live aboard this winter at either Kittery point yacht club in Kittery ME or Portsmouth Yacht club in Portsmouth NH. Haven't seen them since August so not sure how their doing.

This is our second winter in Charlestown Marina in Boston, and we love it. We checked both Constitution and Charlestown, and for the same price, the docks and facilities are, by far, better in Charlestown. Now, if I didn't like my job I would be looking to move a few states down south...
