Tantallon would be great if not for two problems. It is shallow getting in, so you don't want to have much
draft if you intend to ever go sailing. The other is that there are no shoreside facilities - none. (But they charge a
liveaboard fee of $120 a month. That's right, a whopping fee for using none of the non existant facilities). And a third.... it is run by one of those marina managers who have a lot of... um... character... and attitude. One who has a lack of appreciation for such things as getting permits before starting to build things.... which results in them being shut down. (So don't expect the facilities anytime soon. They've been "coming soon" for years).
Other than all that, it is a lovely setting, very well protected from
weather, and pretty convenient for working in the DC area.
