liveaboard scotland

anyone on here live aboard in scotland as Im thinking of moving aboard my cheoy lee 36 up here in Inverness and looking for advice, mail etc

Not me (brrrrrr!) - but welcome to CF anyway .

Apart from general (and universal) liveaboard type advice (some folks on CF do (or have) liveaboard in colder climates in the US / Canada) then probably find more help over on YBW.com.

Cold weather but warm people. A friend lived at Corpach (above the locks). Look for a spot close to facilities - you will want hot showers and toilets within a (short) walk distance. I would check Inverness, channel (not river) side - I think I saw liveaboards there...

We did live aboard in LARGS. It was cold in the winter and there was a slight layer (very thin) of ice in the marina. We did enjoy it though.

Depending on your hull construction and insulation we found dealing with condensation and attendant mold/mildew issues to be challenging. For us, an electric dehumidifier is an essential piece of equipment for maintaining a happy boat in the winter.
