Liveaboard marinas near Charlotte Hall, Maryland?

Greetings! Does anyone know of any liveaboard marinas near Charlotte Hall, Maryland? Are they open year round? Has anyone lived aboard their boat year round in Maryland? I would love to hear about your experiences!

Thanks!

Yikes...I just noticed that I spelled "beginnings" incorrectly. Oh well, haha. I don't see any way to change my username, but let me know if anyone knows how. Thanks!

I sure like Solomon's Island and quite a number of good year 'round opportunities for living aboard. It just depends on your acceptable commuting distance.

Re: Liveaboard marinas near Charlotte Hall, Maryland?

Thanks! I was thinking Solomon's Island would be nice. I have family in Charlotte Hall and will be moving to the area this year. I have never been down that way in the winter, though. It seems like they do not get much snow fall, and I was wondering what it is like living aboard down there in winter. I live in Pennsylvania and we get tons of snow and subzero temperatures. Our marina is closed in the winter and the 27' sailboat goes in storage. I am planning on getting something bigger (34-36') to live on full time. It will just be me and my small dog. My son is going off to college and it is time to start a new adventure.

Thanks!

I'm looking for a liveaboard marina in the Cheseapeake also as I plan on buying a boat in the next two months.

Could you list some of those opportunities around Solomon's Island?

thanks.

.....Holiday Inn Solomons Marina, Spring Cove Marina, Zahnisers Marina, Calvert Marina, Solomons Yachting Center... and more.

These are often packed in the summer, but you can likely find a slip off season and keep it through the peak times.

I kept my boat at Calvert marina in Solomon’s island last year. Plenty of slips and plenty of liveaboards as well. Cheapest marina I found on the Chesapeake

You cannot change your user name. You would have to open another user etc.

I second Spring Cove Marina. Its super clean, good johns, a pool, a bar, and nice people. Plus you can walk to town whereas Calvert is on the opposite shore.
I keep my boat there as does John Kretschmer, the sailing author.

Spring Cove is very nice. We lived aboard at Herrington Harbor North in Deale / Tracys Landing MD. Winters are cold and you will want to have a bubbler to keep the ice away.

Cheers, RickG
