While searching craigslist for an apartment, I stumbled across an ad for a guy renting out his boat to live on. He said he'd lived on it himself for 5 years, but had just moved on land. The rent was very reasonable, and I figured it would be a great way to try out the lifestyle. Unfortunately I haven't heard back from him, but I was wondering if anyone knew how I could search for other opportunities like this, specifically in the New York City area.

Nope....but yachtworld or a walk around a few marinas could find you a cheap liveaboard boat/slip. Jump right into a inexpensive boat and see where it goes.
