Re: live-a-board FL

Hi Jeffiray and welcome.

Maybe a little more info about your marina requirements. Need access to shopping, marine parts, good airport connections, cheapest price, close to the beach, place for the kids to play?

Hurricane holes:
up the river to Indiantown
on the St Johns river further north.
OR run away if you see one coming

Re: live-a-board FL

thanks for your interest.
as i need to work still, All the conveniences are helpful.
population, grocery wouldnt hurt, laundry and showers. and until I can fully relocate, an airport wouldnt hurt. depending on the rules, regs and laws, if i am leaving my boat for a period of time, especially during hurricane season, i think the possibility of putting it up on the hard may be nesc. unfortunately this does not narrow it down too much. althogh it does offer a larger list :-). and of course price point is always a consideration.

thanks again

Re: Live Aboard Florida

Palm Coast, as suggested above, is nice, but a higher cost than many and far from an inlet. You might want to consider the Harbortown Marina on the Canaveral Barge Canal. The price, hurricane protection and ocean access is good, but it's not close to easy shopping.

Re: Live Aboard Florida

if you need in water and out of water and shopping convenience is important, look at westland marina in titusville. not fancy. has new lounge, showers, heads, laundromat. walk to shopping. or, right next door, is the city of titusville marina. a bit more upscale but older lounge, showers, heads, laundromat. and you can still haul out at westland next door if needed.

nearest major airport would be orlando or sanford. used to be an active runway just a few miles away, but it hasn't been used since the space shuttle stopped landing there....
