I have an
Ericson 27 sailboat with an inboard gasoline
engine. I keep the
boat on the
water in the
Puget Sound and sleep-over on it 2-3 nights a weeK. Now that it’s starting to get colder I am look for a way to get some heat. I would really prefer a small portable
heater that is ignition protected due to my gasoline
engine, but I cannot find one except for bilge/engine room heaters which seem more designed to prevent freezing rather than provide actual heat. Any recommendations? I heard (but cannot verify) that portable oil-filled type heaters are inherently ignition protection due to the
heating element being enclosed? Whatever I get I don’t plan to use except when I am on the
boat, and would turn off overnight.
