In the spirit of "Go small, go now".
Hello All,
This post is kinda-sorta aimed at those that are thinking about living aboard a small boat. I've been living comfortably aboard my little '81 Hunter 27 for about 10 months now and have sailed it from the Chesapeake Bay to Florida.
So in the Pardey's spirit of "Go small, go now". I'd like to share a video that I did last year about my boat and some of the process of moving aboard for good.
Fair winds to all...

Great story and accounting. It's always nice to hear real numbers.
It looks like you are enjoying your return home. 👍

Good video. Nice photos.
I enjoyed viewing it. Always nice to put a face with a name.
The numbers about your boat purchase and Refit costs were useful.
Friendly Suggestion: instead of quicky scrolling text overlay on a photo, put the text in a single slide that stays on screen long enough to read at one go. Put another way, lots of quickly scrolling text over photos is harder to read.

What happened during your crossing of Albermarle Sound?

Steady Hand,
Thanks for the comments on the vid. And you are correct about the text/scroll thing. Was trying to minimize the file size (one can always hit Pause to read the scroll).
Nothing really happened while crossing the Albemarle Sound. Was in unfamiliar waters and it was just a bit unnerving to do it at night on a low tide with 20-knot winds out of the east. In hindsight it was a rocking good run!

Re: In the spirit of "Go small, go now".
Thanks for posting. I really enjoyed your videos. I hope to follow in your wake soon enough. The hardest part is choosing the boat. I like your choice of yanmar.
I've owned 8 sailboats. I've enjoyed the smallest ones most. Fewer concerns, less cost, less to worry about overall.
Still looking for that next boat.

Adventures are like that...after the fact its just a story. But when you are in the middle of it, you really don't know how that story will end. Thats the adventure!

Isn't that the truth!
Because no good sea story ever started by someone eating a salad...(Retired US Navy here).

Can't give you a percentage of either. Did the math last night: Started out in Virginia with 32 gallons of diesel onboard. As of 06 February have purchased an additional 42 gallons of fuel. The little Yanmar 1GM really only drinks fuel when motoring above 4-knots. I usually motor with the jib up, except for when the winds are favorable and I can put the main'sle up. Also, due to shoaling throughout the ICW I usually only get underway on the tides flowing in my favor.
