Help with Mariner Regal Stove

Hi everyone.
I'm a new liveaboard in Queensland Australia and i've just joined the group, so i hope i'm doing this right!
I'm trying to find someone who can service/repair a Mariner Regal gas stove near Manly Queensland. Its a 3 burner, made in New Zealand, but i'm struggling to find much info.
Many Thanks
D

Stoves are pretty simple; what is it doing (or not doing?)

Re: Help with Mariner Regal Stove

hi
thx for responding.
2 problems.
1. i can light the grill however the flames go out when i release the knob. The only way the grill will stay on is if the knob is manually held in.
2. the oven will light, and after its reached temperature and the main flame goes out, there will be a large 'whoosh' and all flames will be extinguished. ( it seems to be a gas build-up...i think )

Re: Help with Mariner Regal Stove

It sounds to me that the themocouples are bad and in need of replacement on the cook top and the oven sounds like it needs a real deep cleaning and servicing of the oven stat and the burner orifaces and the pilot oriface as well.

Re: Help with Mariner Regal Stove

My suggestion would be check with one of your local restaurants as to who they use to repair kitchen appliances in your area. I'm half a world away ( literally ) so that's about the best I could suggest.

Help with Mariner Regal Stove

I have a owned a Regal...for 30 years...it has lived on three different boats...
On the grille...you need to wait a few (maybe 7-8) seconds for the thermocouple to heat up. Best marine grille (broiler) I've ever used!
I have had the whoosh a couple/three times in 30 years, relit and worked fine...not sure why...I do wait a bit for the thermocouple.

The link is the company that made the stove in Auckland, they have all the parts except the body. I understand they will refurbish stoves and many ship them in from around the world...I have never needed any parts.

Re: Help with Mariner Regal Stove

Hi Darren and captj
Some bad news. Stainless F&F were purchased by DNL Fabrications in 2016.
Today (04JUL18) I contacted DNL and inquired about the Mariner Regal stoves - receptionist had no knowledge that they ever held stock or fabricated these stoves.
As for your gas stove problem, you could try The Gas Man (not sure if he is still around), but when I used him about five years ago, he was worth every cent.
Failing that, try calling John Steer and Associates in Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron - they are a maintenance organisation and would know who the current gas fitters are around Manly.

Cheers
