Hello All

Well hello all,

My name is John and my wife Tiffany and I have decided to go for it and become a liveaboard. We just began the downsizing process and man what a chore. It's fun though at the same time because you don't know how much stuff you have and dont use until you have to go through it all. We have some time we are going to be buying a boat in probably about a year and living at a marina in DC for for a little while. I am stationed here in the Army so cannot go to far just yet. After that its off to wherever the winds take us. I love reading the posts on here and am very excited to find such a knowledgable community. I believe we are going to be a more northern liveaboard couple...maybe some time in the Great Lakes. I was stationed at Fort Drum in northern New York and we fell in love with a little town on Lake Ontario called Sackets Harbor. Other than that we are thinking Maine and Greenland. Anyone have any expericence up there? Well I look forward to talking to everyone and learning from you all.

Re: Hello All

Hello John & welcome to the community. We love Maine in the summers, especially around Penobscot Bay. As Floridians, we are far too much the pansies to tolerate any winter north of ca 30 degrees latitude. Keep us posted of your adventures.
Take care and joy, Aythya crew

Welcome to CF! Lots to read and learn here and good advice.
Wherever we want to go, we go. That's what a ship is you know - it's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs. But what a ship is...really is, is freedom. ~Johnny Depp as Capt. Jack Sparrow
