Hi guys. I'm sure this question has been asked and debated a lot in the
forums but since it's a question that has answers that vary with time/political climate I'd like to re-ask it.
QN: What is the most effective way of covering
health insurance when cruising. I currently live in the
USA and have dual citizenship (USA and Europe). I'd like to embark on cruising the
West Coast USA and down/beyond and do a
live-aboard. Moving through different countries means that I'll probably need some form of
health insurance. BTW I'm in my late 40's so medicare doesn't come into the equation.
Have you guys found a good way of getting
cheap coverage that covers the necessary whilst in and out of USA waters. I currently don't need any prescriptions and am in general good
health.
My potential plan: Sail down the CA coast to
Mexico and beyond and possibly up through the
Panama Canal to the
Carribean. A lofty journey to be sure but that's another discussion !!
Thanks.
