Gifts . . . What to Ask for

With birthdays coming up our Kids/friends are asking what to give us as a present. I asked for freezer ziplock bags in various sizes. What are some of the best gifts you have received or given?

Re: Gifts- what to ask for

You might want to look into microfiber towels. Divers use them because they absorb a lot of water, take up very little space and dry quickly. Here's an example:

Micronet Microfiber Towel

This is by no means the best price or selection, just an easy to retrieve link. We carry three different sizes in our dive bag. One size for people, one size for gear, and small one, I use on the underwater camera. Just google microfiber towel.

Another suggestion would be some of the silicon bakeware. They can be crunched up and stored anywhere. A word of caution, they are very flexible, a small cookie sheet underneath helps keep the oven cleaner. Along the same lines, we use a collapsible silicon colander, and collapsible silicon measuring cups. Rubbermaid makes a series of collapsible food storage containers. When not in use they collapse to about 1/4 to 3/8 thick but then with a small push they expand. Take a look here on Amazon:

Amazon.com: Progressive International Collapsible Prep Bowl Set, Blue and White: Kitchen & Dining

I hope these will generate some ideas,

Rich

What great suggestions! The fam is still trying to understand that we live on our boat and don't have a 'proper house'.

Re: Gifts . . . What to Ask for

- solar charged (garden) lamps, you might put them into your winches ...
- motion lamp (solar or batteries) - goes on automaticly when somebody uninvitedly boards your boat ...
even handy for yourself to have some light when you come on board in the dark ...
- any flashlight, headlight, clip-on lights for laptop etc ...

I hope this helped ...
happy B-day ...
