Re: Georgia's Warm, Right? Not Today!

I feel for you. The transition to winter here is the most painful.

But we grow accustomed to it. Yesterday hit 15 F and I was outside in an open fleece jacket removing ice from the vehicle with my bare hands, and quite comfy.

Southern Virginia, Kerr Lake. I've only lived here for two winters, but I've been driving across this lake regularly for near a decade and I've never seen the lake ice over like this. Eff this weather.

Re: Georgia's Warm, Right? Not Today!

The sun's shining this morning. Still cold, but crystal clear and beautiful. Power was out for about an hour and a half yesterday afternoon. Electrics came back on around Happy Hour, and the boat's warm inside.

You're right, @Jim Cate, the goal is NO SOCKS! Planning my escape... For now, though, it's woolies and enough clothes for three people.

Northeast is getting hammered, so, yes, Georgia's warm. Happy and fortunate to be here and aboard the boat.

Stay warm, cruisers.

Re: Georgia's Warm, Right? Not Today!

Just left MA where it was 34F and raining. Got back to north FL where it was 34F and raining. This morning it's 27 in N FL but 37 in southern MA

BUT, this weekend FL will be in the 60s but MA about zero.

My boat is on the hard in Thunderbolt, GA. In general, boats are not winterized south of Charleston. I wonder if I have any surprises awaiting me in Thunderbolt?

Al Gore needed something to be remembered for it surely wasn't as VP. The earth is shifting on it's axis. Buy property in Finland. You think I can sell that bill of goods?

Re: Georgia's Warm, Right? Not Today!

Pfft!!! A little ice and snow, enjoy it for its sort duration. I live in Alaska where winter lasts 9 months. Want to trade, no?
On a side note: 1989 before I left Newfoundland it snowed 3" on June 3rd. Swim shorts one day and a parka the next, that was freaky.
