Hey Guys & Gals has anyone tried the JML halogen oven runs at 1300 watts and cook realy great at anything fan assisted. Lovely roast chicken,great cakes & Pies and a stew to die for.

more info - i read the daily mail review (uk) yesterday and wondered how one of these would go on a boat

Hi We have the JML one and use it all the time on the boat. It cooks realy great Sal makes cakes , Roasts, stews and anything else you do in an ordanry oven. You can use normal oven trays or glass dishes as its not a microwave .

Hi Rick the one we have runs on 240volts at 50 hertz and needs 6 amps

Hey I'm electrically challenged but does that translate to 120 amps at 12v dc ? If it does then it's about the same draw ( a bit more ) than my microwave which I never use for more than 5 minutes.

Right I will try to explain. The oven runs on 50hertz at 220-240 volts ac which equates to 6 amps.
If you want to run it on a 12 volt system you will need an inverter that can run at a conatant
1500watts this could cause a problem with the batteries if you dont have enough charging power going in. We run ours on the generator a honda 2kw with no probs. Hope this helps.
