Floating work dock

Hello:

I am in the middle of detailing my boat. I have to compound it all around above the waterline (freeboard) and then polish and buff her (47 feet). Today I attempted to do a section with my dinghy tied up along side. It really didn't work to well My marina does not have a floating dock I can use. Does anyone have any good recommendations for an inflatable dock I could use to detail the hull? I do see them online, but most of them look flimsy. Below is one I found on eBay. Any suggestions welcome

Re: Floating work dock

This one seem pretty good and should be able to get dual purpose out of it. Anyone have one?

Re: Floating work dock

While the floating 'docks' look pretty stable, will their light weight make them less than suitable to use as a work platform? For polishing and buffing you will need to be right at the edge, not spread out evenly over their surfaces. Are they rigid enough to hold up to that sort of point loading, and not flip on you? Pushing against the hull is going to move them away from the boat just like your dinghy. A heavy workboat would offer more inertia and might stay put better. Does someone you know have a Boston Whaler you could borrow for a day? It's not like you're painting or doing anything that would damage it.
