Re: finding a life partner.

Knots I am long term married but I am fairly sure that if you are looking for a life partner posting a photo of yourself with a woman is probably not a good start. Unless you have a cat and need a Mrs in the other hull!
Cheers

Haha, you are assuming Knots is the male in the photo aren't you! Also assuming whoever Knots is, they are looking for the opposite gender.

Knots, you could try here https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...oul+mates.html

Hi Knots,

Pretty easy to change the photo. Look at the menu bar over the postings. Click on the one that says "User CP". On the next screen on the left side the third option from the top should be "Change your profile picture".

You are correct. The option is still in the menu where I indicated but doesn't seem to work. But edit your avatar does.

Hello, Knots,

Sorry for your loss. There is a Thread here called "Single Sailors Seeking Soul Mates". Use the Custom Google Search, and it should get you there. Or, send zeehag a PM, she knows how to find the thread.

Re: finding a life partner.

Don't look. That's the only way to find someone. Go out, be social, look your best, but don't try.

Decide you don't really need a significant other. Live your life without wanting one. . Then it just happens.

Or come to Australia with four rolls of toilet paper and a box of P2 face masks. You’ll be shacked up in minutes.

Re: finding a life partner.

Any site is fine if you are a 16 y o blonde. No site is good if you are an ageing fat male.

Otherwise I always thought it was all about SAILING.

What is the worst thing that may happen if you try ;-) ?

Re: finding a life partner.

Advice from a lucky guy: if sailing and cruising are important to you, don't waste time around sites or activities that are not associated with the life style. The sad fact is that few women of any age are really interested in hanging out on boats. They may be attracted to you otherwise, but forming a relationship with them will lead to tears and the need to abandon either the person or your chosen life.

So, do your searching in appropriate venues, ones where if the woman is there then she has expressed at least some interest in the life. FWIW, I met Ann doing a rare stint crewing on a friends race boat... and we're still sailing 40 years later!

Good luck, mate!

Jim
