Finding a boat and a home(slip)for your boat?

Some advise please! Living in Southern California. And not knowing where I will eventually purchase my boat from, how difficult will it be to find a slip here to live aboard ?? Thank you in advance!

Re: Finding a boat and a home(slip)for your boat?

Unless you plan on relocating to where you buy the boat, then where you by it is somewhat irrelevant.

Where is 'here'? So. Cal. is a large area. Do you plan on remaining in L.A., relocating to San Diego? There is not enough information to answer this question.

Depending on size and location difficult to impossible.
More available in San Diego and Channel Islands (Oxnard), San Pedro/Long Beach.

On the right side of this page is a link to The Log's annual marina guide, start checking marina websites for wait lists and liveaboard availability. Get out your checkbook and start getting on some waitlists if you want a larger slip, if you want to be a "sneak aboard" on a 25' boat you could probably start next week.
