I know service providers (and technologies) change all the time, so I was wondering if much has changed since I researched this topic over a year ago...

Any insights into how to get fast Internet aboard? And what the different price options are?

It depends where you are. We are living aboard in the Caribbean. Speed is not good. Availability is dodgy. And that is for WIFI at most restaurants and other shore hot spots.
