Dockage In the Ft Lauderdale Area

First off Im well aware that Ft lauderdale is one of the most expensive places around florida to dock. That being said I will be sailing to the area at the end of the month and need to find dockage for one month. Can anyone recommend marina/s with reasonable rates for a 28' sailboat with a 5' draft.

Nothing cheap in FT. Lauderdale. Your best bet is to check this paper, especially if you're not going to live aboard. Living aboard might be a bit more difficult.

DockSearch.com - Your place to find dockage for your boat and rent or sell your boat dock space or slip.

Check out Cooley’s Landing Marina on the New River. It’s a city park with several slips. We stayed there a few years ago and it was reasonable and they had nice facilitities.

If you go into Cooleys Landing try for slack tide.

Re: Dockage In the Ft Lauderdale Area

do you really need to dock? I think you can find anchor out options. Lauderdale to S Miami are insane places to hire/buy anything marine.

Try Matheson Hammock off Biscayne Bay. lat 025°40.484 N; long 080°15.324 W. County park. Nice local & unknown beach. Local to Fairchild gardens & near Key Biscayne. Viscaya is local walk-through museum & good. You might enjoy Parrot Jungle.

Spend a day at Stone Age Antiques on the Miami R. by road 79 I think. Marine usable old stuff. You'll wish you had a bigger boat.

Also, there are places on Key Biscayne facing the sheltered bay. Hurricane Bay.

I believe there are places you can anchor along Interstate 95 near Miami Beach. Dinghy ashore and play on Miami Beach. Look near Star RIvo and Belle Islands. Marina nearby but I don't know the place.

No place to anchor in Ft Lauderdale where they won't hassle you, especially for a whole month.
