Re: DIY Liveaboard Boatyards in Central Florida

You want to be able to live on the boat while it is on the hard? Several boatyards in the area will allow you to DIY, and a bunch of marinas allow liveaboards, but I don't know of anyplace that will let you live on the boat while it is on the hard.

Maybe someone else knows of a place, but I suspect you are going to have to make other living arrangements while your boat is out of the water.

There's a boat works in the Salt Creek area of St. Petersburg (I think it was "Salt Creek") that allowed someone in my club to live on their boat while they worked on it.

After I got my boat and lived aboard, Snug Harbor in or near Indian Rocks Beach, FL allowed me to stay on the boat for a week while they worked on it. That was a year ago last December. I don't know if Snug Harbor allows you to work on your boat but my friends from the club did do their own work.
