I do not have folding props.
The ventilation with the overhead
hatch in the main
salon is adequate. I keep the covers on the forward windows if I'm trying to keep the heat out when its over 100deg outside .3 AC units in the
boat help when it gets too hot.
The
boat seems short rigged to me. My
mast is not the original
mast and it may be shorter than other
boats. If its blowing over 15kts it will sail on its own, but it will only point if the engines are on and in forward
gear. I have sailed it with one
engine running, two engines running and no engines running. Folding props would help for sure.
It is a rolly boat. I have not spent any time in an exposed anchorage, but I imagine it would roll a lot if exposed to a beam sea. A flopper stopper or other stabilization system would be needed for those types of situations.
The boat has no Achilles heel that I know of. But proper inspections should be made to be aware of any of the defects all boats of that era can suffer from (soft decks failing
teak, etc.)
