Well now, this can be a philosophical question upon which copious amounts of the finest wine can be relied upon to produce the right answer. However, before my wife and I cast off cruising, we decided to do some serious preparation. She below decks and I above. Then came time for my deep voiced and manly instruction 'cast off all lines' as I began to reverse from the pontoon. Lines away but no move and worse still I had no one else to blame. She smiled forgivingly. I had cleaned the waterline from the dinghy
and of course secured a masthead halyard
to the pontoon which remained secured !!
Like on all marinas
, no one was watching, 'really'.
