Calming the rocking liveaboard boat...
Common complaint is that the boat hardly ever stops moving. I think the greater stability of the catamaran helps with its occasional sales.
Seems that a lot of weight down by the keel would stabilize rocking significantly. How about four tightly drawn anchors?

I love the rocking! well as long as it's not too rough. Look into flopper stoppers.

4 anchors won't stop the rocking. You will, however, be reviled in most anchorages.

Re: Calming the rocking liveaboard boat...
4 anchors will calm the rocking fine because once you get them out the wind will change a bit, one will drag from tension, the other will wrap around the prop in your panic and then the boat will be on the beach! No rocking on the beach!

Try this. Friends have one and are happy with it.

Re: Calming the rocking liveaboard boat...
only way to stop a boat from rocking is to ......................... sink it

Re: Calming the rocking liveaboard boat...
Learn that rocking is normal on a boat in the ocean and don't be afraid of it. For that synchronic, amplified, harmonic or whatever it's called, rolling that can develop in an otherwise seemingly calm anchorage you just need something like flopper stoppers, or rocker stoppers to get it out if it's self amplifying oscillation.

Re: Calming the rocking liveaboard boat...
Has anyone taken a line from about 20 - 40 or so feet out the anchor line and back to a stern or mid-ship cleat to skew the boat a bit. Something I have read about but never tried.

if not too much wind, use a ketch anchor to point the bow into the swell.

How to stop Rocking and Rolling at anchor
|
That's a bit like the Pardeys method of deploying a parachute anchor slightly off the bows with a line to midships.

This idea from De.windhoos sounds like a variation of the thought presented by DeepFrz and I have used this with success on a couple of occasions. I wonder if the intent was to use the term "kedge" anchor instead of "ketch" anchor.

You might be interested in "the swell bridle" . Keeps the boat pointed into the swell when the wind is contrary. Seems like a good idea to me.

Re: Calming the rocking liveaboard boat...
In a pinch you can throw a five gallon bucket over the side and tie it to the end of the boom. Another way if it is because the wind and the tide are at odds, tying a spring line to the anchor rode and skewing the boat works well.
