I honestly didn't mean to be rude about the sailing, but seriously reckon it's game over if they haulout in NC at this time of year.

Somebody recommended a boat yard in Washington, NC
Anybody knows of a friendly boatyards in the are that could accommodate them to do a DIY repower ?
These are tight budget cruisers on a 1974 Tartan 34C
Thank You

Well, S/V Jacob Nagle made it down to Oriental under sail. They were very thankful for the countless suggestions they got from this list.
Thank you all

Why is that ?
Jacob Nagle will probably rebuild, or replace the Atomic 4 in the water.

Another snowbird friend just today posted that they had to pull their shaft to replace the cutlass bearing.

Please have them contact Henry or Jim and we can certainly help them out. They can email at dockmaster@riverforestmarina.com. or call. I also spoke with Ricky Radcliffe of Radcliff Marine and he can set them up with an outboard and mount at reasonable prices, and we have a couple places we could set them up at very reasonable prices. River Forest Marina is under new ownership as of a year ago.
Yes Yves told me that he used the shower. He said that there WA no room for the boat there.
So they made it under sail to Oriental.
Thank you very much

Sailcraft in Oriental is a great yard and you can do your own work there too. Highly recommend them.

You forgot this one for $450 asking (thats like $200 USD)

Used Atomic 4 engine for sale | sailboats | Kingston | Kijiji

Apparently, the A4 lasts longer than the boat in some cases!

I bet their A4 is repairable...those things were built to last. Full replacement seems like a last resort to me. And if they are going to repower, why not drop in a diesel...a volvo penta 2002 will likely fit (it fit on my boat which was repowered from the original A4).
