Boatschool....Calvert or Oak Meadow

We were set on Calvert till I started reading cruisers like Oak Meadow better?

Calvert is spendy, Oak Meadow isn't....but how's the curriculum? Any negative thoughts about Oak Meadow?

Who's got experience setting up a homeschool in the state of California? Not sure exactly what to do and since we're leaving in the middle of a school year, it leaves me a little more confused.

Our daughters were rising sophomores when we set out last year, so Calvert was not an option. We looked at Oak Meadow and then decided on the Keystone School. Not sure whether it is Keystone, or homeschooling in general, but we are headed home early after a year. Keystone requires a lot of on-line work, which meant we were tied to more developed anchorages to get wifi. We also found that schoolwork was requiring 6-8 hr/day, 6 days a week and we weren't keeping up.

Other cruisers with kids seemed not to have this problem, but they did not have High Schoolers. Also, they all homeschooled before they left. I strongly recommend it. You and the kids get the chance to work out the bugs and get use to the homeschool thing.
