Boat name change mid cruise

Must repost question as my emailed has changed (I think this might be a problem) Anyways, I want to know what the procedure or protocol or legalities of changing my boat name mid way along Mexican coastline. I will clear immigration under one name but what about when I enter the next port? Any tips or pitfalls I’m walking into? Thanks

If what you say is true you are already in trouble it is illegal to be licensed and registered.

A Canadian vessel may be Federally Licensed or Federally Registered but not both. If you have licensed and registered your boat you can be subject to Federal Prosecution under the Canada Shipping Act.

Licensed or Registered

If you have a "blue book" your registry is out of date and your registry has likely been suspended and you will have to go through the whole tonnage measurement and registry application again. The old "blue book" is now just a yellow sheet of paper.

In order to change the name of a registered vessel one must submit the application and $250 to Transport Canada ..... and wait

Please also note that it is illegal to change the name of a Canadian Registered vessel without Transport Canada approval.

Okay, so aside from Canadian law, I am looking for info on Mexican clearance papers that are stamped at a particular port with the boat name on it and then having a new name put on it while in port. I leave port...am I good at the next port?

Really ! You want to show Mexican customs a registration with a different name than whats on the boat, Can you spell fraud.
Suggest you learn to bend over now.
Let us know how that works out

Re: Boat name change mid cruise

Okay, so I pull into a little cove, drop anchor, dinghy to shore, hand over my pages in triplicate listing boat name, captains name, crew, size of boat and such, hand over the pesos and get my stamped copies. I have never had a port captain row to the stern of my boat. I have never been asked for my registration papers in while in Mexico. So I suppose I'll just put the new name on the next set of clearance papers for the next port. Waddya think? Anybody want to weigh in?

Nope. I just read some of your posts on other threads. It's obvious you have never cruised anywhere. I will not be trolled by you anymore. You have been blocked, my first ever on this forum.
