Beneteau 411 Aft Cabin convert to storage

Hello All,
Has anyone ever tried to convert one of the aft cabins to a storage area? What were some of your primary considerations, and how did it work out in the end. What might you have done differently.

I lived aboard my Jeanneau 36i for over two years, one year in Washington, DC and the balance in San Diego. The DC assignment was "coat and tie" and I converted the quarter berth aft into a hanging locker. The berth cushion was already in two sections, so I flipped the outboard section over onto the inboard section which was mostly under the cockpit.

I cut a wooden closet rod to length and, if I remember correctly, made a vertical wood support for the middle of the rod. Suits, dress shirts, and ties went on the rod. I organized other clothing in duffle bags atop the cushions. Simple, cheap, and easily returned to the quarter berth configuration.
