After 3 boring months sitting in the
Marshall Islands waiting out cyclone season and the northern winter, we are going to sea. As soon as the Super Bowl is over we slip our lines and
head for
Japan, a 3,000nm island-hopping journey with no leg longer than 1,000nm.
The paperwork has been a challenge, the Federated States of Micronesia want you to get permission before you arrive but do not answer their e-mails and the island of Chichijima, Japanese but 600 nm off-shore, is both a closed forbidden port and a port of entry!
Plan to be in
Japan by mid-April where we will explore the Inland Sea for 2 months.
