I want to install an open mesh under my
cushions to help with air circulation and keep the
cushions dry. From reading other posts on this subject, it seems that the consensus is to use HyperVent mesh. At $10US per linear foot for HyperVent it would cost me $300 to do both cabins and the settees on my
boat. I’ve been researching trying to find a more cost effective alternative. Has anyone tried using this product?
CedAir Roof Ventilation Mat
It’s designed to go under cedar roofing and provide an airway to allow the shingles to air out. It looks very similar to HyperVent but without the
fabric on one side that HyperVent has. It’s 1 meter wide and 10mm thick. At $2.50US per linear foot it’s much more cost effective. You do have to buy a 60 foot roll, so I’d have to go in with another
boat to use it all up, but I estimate it would take 29 linear feet to do all the cushions on my 10 meter
monohull, so 2 boats would use up a
single roll.
Has anyone tried this or similar products, have thoughts on it, or have other less expensive solutions?
Thanks
