Agreed. It’s awesome to open the companion way to enter and feel a rush of cold air. We wouldn’t be in St Simmons for the summer without a/c.

These crappy hunters sure keep us comfortable.

We bought a fuel tank at a jumble sale yesterday for the extended fuel kit for our Honda. Time to test it out with a/c. It's 90 degrees, 77% humidity, and no wind in Grenada today. We have EasyStart on a 2003 vintage CruisAir 12K BTU.

It will start! My Honda will start my 16k unit with Easy Start with the Honda in Eco mode.

We have a Dometic DCU 18 with Dometic soft start (think its called Smart Start II), and water pump. A Honda 2000 wont start it. A Honda 2200 does, and we have used it frequently. It needs to start up with Honda eco-mode turned off, but once it gets thru compressor initial start, you can switch on eco mode and it runs fine.

My 16K Webasto hit like a Mule, something like over 60 amps surge. I tried a hard start kit, didn’t do much.
I installed a soft start, and it’s like magic, no detectable surge at all and the Honda 2000 will easily start it in Eco mode.
Maybe not all soft start kits are the same, maybe some are more effective than others?
