When I am in a marina and have a small AC unit (6000 Btu), the compressor never turns off (and it takes several days to reduce the thermal mass inside as well). There really isn't a need for a thermostat in a hot and humid climate, all you need is MAX...

With no gain for duty cycle time, that sounds like four or five 8D batteries. Call it 800 pounds of batteries. What's the problem? You didn't really need to carry all that food and water did you? I love my little Honda!
