About Living on a Boat - Rent ?

So I've been googling around for an hour or so and I haven't found anything on renting a boat. I'm starting to think that means its not possible.

I'm not in a financial position to buy a boat or get a loan for it. Is it possible to rent a boat like I would rent an apt? I mean, I figure it would be better to rent and try out the lifestyle for a year or so before dumping big money on it. But finding nothing online I am thinking this isn't done?

Maybe this makes it worse, but I'm moving to Shanghai in a few weeks. I figured if I'm in need of housing anyway...

Re: About living a boat - rent?

Renting a boat is called chartering and costs from £100 a day.
You can buy a cheap boat( smaller, poor condition,no jacuzzi)
for less than £3000 a cheap months charter.
what is the deposit on housing?

there are also boats for Lots more.

When I google chartering I see mainly vacation trips. Charter a boat for 3 days or for a dinner party. Is this difficult to find because it isn't popular/common or I just not googling right?

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, chatfouz.

You're right, in that leasing (long-term rental) of live-aboard boats just isn't done.
