First, great forum...thanks to everyone for all the info.
I plan to retire in May and move somewhere in the Byron area, close to my 6 year old son. I was thinking of fullfilling a life long dream and
buying a
live aboard and finding a slip somewhere on the northern NSW coast. I was just there (Byron) and damn it was expensive. I wasn't able to get to the shore so my knowledge of the area is limited (I lived in
Sydney for a couple of years, a couple of years ago).
So, I will have about 60K per year coming in-in a pension. If I own the
boat outright, can I afford to live there on 60K or will I need to find a job? I've already been offered exceptional jobs in
Sydney, but that's not my dream and its not near enough to my boy.
I've been looking at sailboats on gumtree and have found several, what look like, really good deals.
Am I off my rocker? Can you point toward more info?
Any and all input is welcome.
Thanks
