Want to Go Around the World ? Watch this . . .

I was cruising youtube and came across the best video I have ever seen on world crusing. It is only a minute but is a great collage of a couple who had never sailed before, bought a 37 foot boat, and spent 10 years going around the world. It is worth a look.

Spot the error in this video..........

two little kids!!

I would never ever take my (small) kids on such a venture, nor produce one during the adventure (practicing is allowed).

But, nice little lighting like world cruising trip video.

Why not? I can remember wanting to go sailing on an adventure when I was little. I can remember it explicitly when I was 9. I don't see any problem for the kid now that I'm older. Why not actualy do it if you can?

Course, I'm a bit biased, as I don't have kids yet, but would like to as soon as my wife an I are blessed with them.

Pretty cool. I enjoyed seeing the kids get older imagining what great experiences they will have at such a young age and how much better this must be for them than land school.

Some of the brightest most unfazed kids I've ever met were born and raised on board... 3 or 4 languages by 7 and handle small boats with the best of em....
With good parents its a perfect upbringing...

Couldn't agree more. The idea that children have to be raised in a padded crib with a 50" plasma TV as a babysitter is absurd.

With that kind of opinion you will never the leave the comforts of the home shoreline and your fears will find you as an arm chair cruising critic of the highest esteem.

Re: Want to go around the world? Watch this:

Why Spiritbear? THat is nonsense.
We nearly left with our kids when they were 7 and 8, but decided not to as we felt it was asocial to our kids, to live OUR dream and keep them away from a proper schooling, stable environment and friends. But, it is a choice every parent has to make for themselves. I am not judging anyone who does, it is merely my personal view and opinion.

So, now they´re 17 and 18 and they know we cast of when they are 20 and 21. Plan is made, everybody is cool with it.

What´s your point?
