Silly question Ping but where would you buy a Chilean chart atlas in Chile?
Cheers

Re: UK to Patagonia.....your thoughts?

From SHOA - SERVICIO HIDROGRÁFICO Y OCEANOGRÁFICO DE LA ARMADA DE CHILE -
http://www.shoa.cl/php/inicio
or one of their agents.
Its Pub No. 3042 in their catalogue.... http://www.shoa.cl/s3/datos/catalogo...atalogo_03.pdf
(There is some interesting stuff in this pdf regarding datums and GPS...page 17.)
and is in their online shop here
https://tiendavirtual.shoa.cl/index....=89&Itemid=759

The 2009 edition, although listed, is out of print and currently unavailable.

Just be aware that Biscay can be nasty late Sep and Oct as storms barrel in from the Atlantic. You have enough experience to cope and the boat likely a good size, but it could be bouncy and wet if you are caught out.

Earlier in Sep would be my choice with the current and generally northerly winds blowing you down the Portuguese coast. Lovely warm downwind sailing.
