The s/v Dutchtreat and the Great Loop

This is a story about a Boat and its owners.

4 years ago I found the boat ( 1979 Morgain 33' O.I ) I belive I paid a nice price $9,000 at the time new sails and the drive tran worked.

4 years later I have made the following upgrades:

16,000 BTU A/C Heat
Wire Rigging
6,500 Watt Genset
Rewired the boat Both A/C ( now 50 amp service) and DC
electrecial panels (A/C, DC and 4 way sourse switch)
Battery bank 6volt over 1,000 amp hours
refeg/freezer
oven
Radar 2K
Auto Helm
Chart Plotter
All fresh water sysem
3 sets of sails
new Perkins 4-108
Alum. Toe rail
Running Rigging
Bimini X2

I may have left a few things off but I am sure you see the point.

I believe it is now time to Take the Dutch for a trip.

The Great Loop

We plan to depart Jacksonville FL with in 2 weeks and jump off shore come in about every 3 days or so and then back out. I would like to make it to St louis by winter, store the Boat in Alton ill for the winter and finnish the trip the next season.

For a disabled person doing most of the work it has been very hard on me But some how I have been able to do it.

I am sure I will learn so much while on the trip.

well I will write more later

Congratulations & Good Luck!
We're nowhere near setting out yet but we've talked about starting out with a Great Loop when we do get going.

Hi Dutch,

Great news. Congratulations, good luck and have a great trip. I'm just starting my overhaul so figure a couple of years and I'll be departing Jacksonville for my loop, just planning to loop in a different direction.

Keep us posted on the trip.
