Passage North from St.croix

Hello cruisers!
I am writing this on behalf of my hubby who is currently working his way north from Christiansted, St Croix to Miami/Ft Lauterdale. If anyone has any passage tips for the best route it would be most welcomed. He and a buddy are MOTORING on an Island Packet 44’ (no mast/ salvage project). Any info would be helpful! Thanks so much in advance!

Re: Passage North from St.croix

I did the very same trip last year: Christiansted, St. Croix to North Palm Beach, FL.

See attached chart of my trip.

If you have any questions, ask here or PM me.

Thanks Cool Hand Luke! What time of year was this? I’ll try to forward the map to my hubby. They are trying to avoid as much rough water as possible as they have no mast and it’s kind of like riding a cork.

St. Croix to Florida was March 2017. Florida to New Jersey was June 2017.

STX to FL was 8 days. FL to NJ was 9 days.

I actually had very light wind. Had to engine a lot more than I thought.
