Lake Worth to Green Turtle (1st time)

OK John ... we can definitely get together in the Bahamas. I'm glad to hear you are heading that way in January. My timing is around the same.

I'm looking forward to receiving my guidebooks and will use the Active Captain app on the iPad.

Hoping to be down that way through April then back to Maine.

i'm with vasco. we cross lake worth/memory rock/great sale/green turtle. i've seen many large yachts on this route.

you could check in at west end first but i don't like manuevering in there so i avoid it. i also don't like indian cay channel so i avoid that too. you might be stopped by bdf (bahamas defence force) but more likely you will not be. i was stopped by them a few years ago and simply advised to check in at west end next time.

you can also check in at spanish cay, just north of green turtle. there is a charge for stopping there in addition to the clearing in fee.

if you go 'over the top' of the banks as it shows in your picture, you can check in at green turtle or even marsh harbor, but the distance will be greater and you'll probably be running against wind and current much of the way.
