Lightbulb Hi from shane 86 NEW MEMBER

HAVE PLAN. My wife Elizabeth and i do a little sailing around the east-coast of Aus, in a 27ft tri, Farrier. Now that the Aus dollar is buying quite well in the USA at the moment I thought I might pop over to California and pick up a yacht 40-45ft and make our way back to Aus with a planed route. Elizabeth comes from peru so i thought we might sail down the west coast and turn right and head for AUS, being that we are not that exp at ocean crossing and so on, was wondering whether their was any body who can assist in details ,like best time of year to depart ,and the best place to turn right and start heading back to AUS.time factor (not to sure on) 6 mnths. there are a lot of other things I am to consider, exp crew to assist . financing the boat at the correct%rate and so on .
I THOUGHT it would be a good way to acquire our floating home that we want and experience at the same time. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time ,cheers .shane86.

Welcome Shane - you might want to do a search on that topic in this Forum --- Several discussions (threads) on just that topic. Good luck!

Hi, Shane

The standard "search" feature on this site doesn't work very well. I suggest that you bookmark this custom Google search engine link, and use it to dig for information to help you plan. After reading abit, I''m sure you'll have questions, so don't hesitate to ask. Good luck!
