1 year sabbatical starting Adriatic in July

We've kept our plans quite loose while we've been boat hunting, but now we have a deposit down we're starting to firm things up.

The boat is a 2006 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45, currently in the north Adriatic, and our intention is to spend July sailing down the Adriatic, go through the Corinth canal to spend August in Greece, then spend September/October heading to Spain/Portugal and then down to the Canaries to join one of the Atlantic rallies.

All being well we would then cruise the Caribbean until May, then head back to either the UK or the Med in June/July.

Does this sound feasible? Any particular suggestions for route from Greece to Spain?
