FWIW, I think the small font in first pic was just right.

However, I agree "Stargate" is a decent boatname.

I have had 9 or 10 boats.

Sailing is easy.

Naming is hard.

Yep.

Lots of cruisers are way more social than I am. The questions would have me ruing the day I picked that name.

I'm a sci-fi nut. I noticed the name before I read your post. I like it the way it was done in the first picture, but maybe a little lower. I couldn't tell but was that the Earth symbol next to it? I thought that would be a fun addition to it too.

+1 for the idea of saying three times on the radio.

The PO of my boat named her Cynosure. For various reasons I did not change the name. So radio calls for bridge opening sometimes sound like this.

"XXXX bridge, this is SV Cynosure requesting your next opening please."

"No problem next opening in XX minutes. Please repeat the vessels name."

"Cynosure"

"Cyno?????"

" spelling... Charlie, Young (Or Yankee), November, Oscar, then the word SURE"

"Okay, I'll confirm it off the stern when you come through."

That said, the inlet we always go through has it down....

Just say'n you may want to consider the pleasure of dealing with an unusual name.....

Lots of luck with the deal, she looks like good

I like that idea.
