Re: What'd you to your boat today?
We are moving to a new dock tomorrow. So it sucks we have been here for 5 years. A new owner bought the house a couple of months ago and told us at the first of the year we have to move by the end of the month. There are two of us, both westsails. We were lucky and found a dock that we can both stay at. The new owner redid the yard so we spent the day scrubbing about an inch of mud off the boats plus the interior and collecting all the junk that we have accumulated. The new dock we found seems nice, it's right across from the Lauderdale Marine Center but it cost more bucks than we are used to. $200 bucks a month was nice while it lasted.

Re: What'd you to your boat today?
After trouble-shooting a fresh water pump problem and re-building the head, I locked it up and left sunny Florida for four weeks and flew back to Annapolis. It's going to be a long February. I miss the boat already.

Re: What'd You Do to Your Boat Today ?
On Saturday, tried (without success, once again) to remove a stuck end fitting from the spinnaker pole.

During my lunch break I spliced eyes in a piece of Dyneema to hitch onto my anchor rode... to attach a snubber.

I overhauled the dink carb, wife loaded the rest of the gin. Weather permitting, we head out in a week.

Mounted a loud hailer on my arch and wired it to my Standard Horizon VHF. Now I can make unattended fog signals. Woo Hoo!

Re: What'd You Do to Your Boat Today ?
Not on the boat today. Saturday rinsed bird poop (a disadvantage of having a mast) from the pilothouse and saloon roofs, and had an afternoon party in the saloon with my GF and sister to celebrate my birthday. Didn't leave the marina berth so we could drink.

Re: What'd You Do to Your Boat Today ?
Last night I finished making up some nice blackout curtains for the salon windows. It is always too bright in the summer for my kids who wake up at 5am. Not cool!
I removed 4 screws from each of the windows and replaced them with same dimension 'snap' end screws. Then cut up a prefab curtain that I bought from a home store. I think they turned out great, but we'll see if they manage to help the kids sleep in longer!

Re: What'd You Do to Your Boat Today ?
I just took my boat across a previously unknown faultline near Sebastian Inlet in Central Florida...........
So, we held on for the jolt and managed to adapt to the sudden 0.2 kt speed increase. What's your conclusion? Is there a new fault line in Florida or is GPS actually fallible?
