US citizen ownership and registration for BVI yacht

I am a US citizen. I recently purchased a sail catamaran that is currently being refit in BVI. I plan to eventually place her in crewed charter based in BVI.

I have established an LLC in the US to own the boat. I was thinking about registering the boat in BVI because she will be based there, but I have been advised that BVI registration does not allow a US company to be owner.

How do most US citizens handle ownership and registration for BVI based yachts?
