Temporarily Importing a Yacht into Turkey

Anybody advise or point me towards a good resource for this. New build boat from French yard due early next year. Ex VAT purchase by non resident UK national. Boat will be shipped to Far East via Marmaris but would like to spend one summer in the Mediterranean first.

If you are Not a EU tax resident, then you have 18 months of usage of the boat in the EU before vat is due. Carry prof of your non tax resident status , like utility bills, tax returns in a foreign country etc.

Thanks.Sounds OK but still not sure if I'd want to take on EU Tax authorities armed only with my Thai rent book. Any other EU exiles had experience of sailing in EU waters?

Why do you perceive it will be difficult. I've told you the solution. You are entitled by your non resident status to 18 months TIR. That process requires no application, it is an entitlement.

Why do you think customs authorities will even glance in your direction.
