Good and cheap don't go together in shipping yachts... Shooting from the hip in guessing you'd be looking around 50k to ship her...

Sorry I take that back... I bet you could fit her in a container and ship her for quite a but less...

I missed the part about her only being 10M...

I just did some research for sending a 50 foot trimaran from Ensenada to Florida. $57,000.

I would be very careful about who you ship with and the type of company you deal with.

At a recent Florida Yacht Brokers Association seminar we heard a lot of horror stories about shipping transactions gone wrong.

I would strongly suggest anyone planning on shipping their yacht to ask their yacht broker for advice. It's not as straight forward as shipping something with DHL or Fedex.

Re: shipping a yacht from nz to europe

My friends shipped their 43 from NZ to west coast USA. They had to acquire a cradle, but it was just shipped regualar container ship, no special Yacht service. Any container ships go from NZ to Europe?

The only cheap way will be inside a container, your draft will most likely be the determining factor. Dockwise may appear to be the most expensive but if you add the cost of cranes and cradles the gap narrows. If your situation allows you to wait until just before they sail, you can negotiate a much better price with dock wise if they have unsold space.
