Re: Rio Dulce/ storage fees/ how much

I don't think you'll find anywhere cheap on the Rio.
Thunk $700 to $800 just for haulout.

Astillero Magdalena (Don Abel's) Abels - This family owned and operated yard has been a long time favourite of cruisers as well as the Guatemalan Navy for haul-outs. With a rail lift as well as a travel lift Abels can handle beamy boats up to 33 feet. The addition in 2009 of a dry storage area makes them an affordable choice for out of water storage for your boat.

Ram Marine - Located in Shell Bay this yard has an excellent dry storage area, a large travel lift, convenience store, and fuel dock. The yard office can assist you in ordering and importing items for your boat projects.

Where did you get those prices? We have been quoted between $250-$400 from different places to haul and launch a 40' catamaran. I would be surprised if you found anywhere cheaper in the Caribbean than the Rio Dulce.

Also, there is a new haulout facility in the Rio - Nana Juana Marina. They are using a hydraulic trailer to pull boats.

Lots of boats from the Rio use the Glades Boatyard in Florida.

Boats from the Rio Dulce in Guatemala store in Florida? Are you thinking of a different Rio?

Definate venue confusion here. Just had a Voyage 50 hauled at Abels. $500 round trip.

RAM has by far largest area for dry storage. Contact them for current rates.
