Just a note on working while cruising.. Even though we're retired with pension comming in we also do a fair amount for
canvas work as we travel and we've found that you dont always get to go where you want or when you want..
Just a short on the last few weeks,
We finished the
refit on the
boat and headed for
San Francisco for awhile, and while there were asked to do a
Bimini for a
boat.. well yep, thats what we do, but befor we finished the
bimini, we were approched to do a stack-pack for a boat, did that, and while there We decided to add to our ground tackle and order a new
anchor, chose a "Mantus" but had to have an address for Fed-Ex, found a friend about 30 miles away to send it to and while there picking up the
anchor, were asked to do a boat cover for a
fishing boat, working on that now and have already been asked to do a
dodger on another boat..
So here we are, about a hundred miles north of where we want to be and wont be able to leave for another week or two, If we dont accept any more
work..
So we're changing our thought and only doing work, when and if we want to and not because it pops up in front of us, as it would be very easy to stick out a shingle and rent a shop and go into business again.. Not something we are wanting to do, not right now anyway, so be careful about working while cruising and where it
WONT take you..
