I was circumnavigating clockwise from Fremantle and was motoring out of Sydney harbour to go have a short look at Tasmania before going across the Bight back to WA. As I was motoring along I started to think whether or not I wanted to go back and in a moment of inspired madness removed a coin from my pocket, assigned the options - turn left or right at the Heads - and gave it a flip.

That was in 2004 and I have not been any further south than the Great Sandy Straits ever since.
