Yes, US$300 per day is on the high end for most "small" boat
(35-65') delivery captains. And keep in mind that as a delivery skipper
your day is really 24 hours long not 8.
So, OP, don't choose this "career option" for the money
or the benefits (none). Money
and benefits would be better at Wal-Mart.....but not the sea stories.
A lot of charter
companies (one of your likely clients as a delivery skipper) are going to flat rate contract
deliveries...which could leave you making way less than $300/day if things don't go well.
If you want to make money as a captain
then you need to work your way up to higher tonnages....but then that's a lot like having a real job.
