Hi all -
This is my first post in Cruiser's Forum, although I have benefitted from many of your posts over the years. Well, I am finally ready to buy a
boat and go cruising with my
family. I've found a
boat that seems like the right boat in
Panama. It's flagged in El Salvadore and is
for sale by owner. He reports no liens on the boat.
I want to make sure everything is done in a way that protects me, but I'm not sure what to do beyond hiring a
marine surveyor. Also, he has sent me a
contract he wrote. Is that even legally binding? I just don't know how to do this.
Also, if anyone has a
marine surveyor in
Panama they can recommend, please let me know.
Thanks in advance for all the help,
Joy
